Animal care has been part of Mountaire Farms from the beginning. Independent family farmers, many of whom have worked with Mountaire for generations, provide daily care while our live-operations teams and licensed veterinarians support flock health, housing conditions, nutrition, and biosecurity.

Every flock is traceable to the farm where it was raised, helping reinforce accountability throughout the process.

Standards backed by experience

Our animal-welfare approach focuses on disease resistance, high-quality nutrition, safety and sanitation, veterinary care, and humane handling. Breeder and broiler operations follow National Chicken Council best-practice guidelines covering hatcheries, feed, housing, natural behaviors, transportation, and processing. Independent audits help verify that these standards are applied consistently.
